Eugenie Shea appointed president of Catlin Underwriting Agency US Inc in Houston
HOUSTON - Catlin Group Limited (‘CGL’: London Stock Exchange), the international property and casualty insurer and reinsurer, announces that Eugenie H. Shea has been appointed president of Catlin Underwriting Agency US Inc. in Houston (CUAUS).
In her new role, Eugenie Shea will be responsible for directing the operations of CUAUS, which underwrites specialty classes of insurance, including medical malpractice insurance, on behalf of the Catlin Syndicate at Lloyd’s of London and Catlin Bermuda. CUAUS is a licensed surplus lines broker in Texas.
Eugenie Shea has distinguished background in medical malpractice insurance. She was most recently executive vice president of Advocate, MD Insurance Company of the Southwest in Austin, Texas. She previously held senior management positions with Gallagher Healthcare Insurance Services in Houston, Farmers Insurance Group in Los Angeles, NORCAL Mutual Insurance Company in San Francisco and The Doctors Company in Napa, California. She holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Pacific and a Master of Business Administration Degree from Pepperdine University.
