Property Facultative
North American Property
Business in the North American Proeprty book is underwritten on
anything from single location exposures to multinational accounts.
Both direct and facultative insurance is written for a portfolio
where individual risks can vary from office and habitational
exposures to major industrial risks such as Mining and Steel. The
experienced team of underwriters are relationship driven and have
an established and longstanding core book of business.
Catlin's line size enables the underwriting team to drive
the global decision making process. A market-known wordings
team and an extensive claims team all create to a strong
leadership role in the market.
International Property
This is a mature
book of direct and facultative Non-US/Canada business, 50% of which
is led by Catlin underwriters, and the Nuclear account.
The international team concentrates on commercial and industrial
risks (e.g. municipalities, hotel chains, mining companies and
manufacturers), but it also writes larger residential
accounts. The portfolio is evenly divided by primary, excess
of loss and full value placements and covers virtually all
territories including those prone to natural
catastrophes.
Catlin writes a mature book of first party property and third
party liability business for all risks associated with the nuclear
fuel cycle. The majority of this business is accessed through
participation in the world-wide nuclear pooling system and
reinsurance support of industry mutual organisations. Catlin
has an active role in the management of Nuclear Risk Insurers,
otherwise known as the British nuclear pool.
