Catlin is one of the largest London based cargo underwriters, both by premium and individual risk capacity and has written a cargo account since it began underwriting in 1985. The account is principally written on a direct basis through specialist marine cargo brokers and coverholders. The underwriting in London is carried out exclusively at Lloyd’s.
The international offices write mainly general cargo business, with the emphasis being to write local business which would not normally come into the London Market.
