How we operate
Our corporate responsibility (CR) initiatives are effective because they are underpinned by the Catlin Group’s culture and core values: transparency, accountability, teamwork, integrity, and dignity.
In implementing our strategy, we work with a number of organisations and have membership of several initiatives.
FTSE4Good Index - FTSE4Good is an equity index series that is designed to facilitate investment in companies that meet globally recognised corporate responsibility standards.
We are members of the index in recognition of our efforts towards corporate responsibility.
ClimateWise - a group of leading companies and organisations in the insurance industry which are committed to taking action on Climate Change and to reporting publicly on their own performance.
The Copenhagen Communiqué - a short statement that draws on some of the key recent thinking on climate policy that has emerged from the international business community, and sets out the business case for a strong and effective UN climate framework. Many organisations were signatories to this.
The Carbon Disclosure Project - an independent not-for-profit organisation holding the largest database of primary corporate climate change information in the world. Thousands of organisations from across the world’s major economies measure and disclose their greenhouse gas emissions and climate change strategies through CDP.
BITC - a business-led charity with a growing membership of 850 companies, from large multinational household names to small local businesses and public sector organisations. They advise, support and challenge members to create a sustainable future for people and the planet and to improve business performance. Members work with BITC to define what responsibility looks like in the workplace, marketplace, community and the environment - and they share what they learn about driving performance through responsible business practice.
The Centre on Philanthropy - this organisation believes in a Bermuda where effective and efficient charities and non-profit organisations work with the private sector and government to build a caring and giving community.
